Depression – Return of the Silent Predator

I relapsed back into depression just before Christmas 2012 (and again in 2014!), just shy of 4 months into remission.

It was a long, dark and bleak battle, fought at the edge of the Abyss, knowing the horror that lies within.

Depression is a simultaneous emotional, physical and spiritual flat-line.

This is now my second week back in the World, treading gently, as once again I strive to find my path.

This clip is a good portrayal of how I experience the flat-line and the effort needed to escape the Abyss:

This post is dedicated to the army of courageous people who battle and endure depression.

You are not alone……

I get you, brother. Depression is a life-long thing for me. It is so strange, since I consider myself to be so cheery and happy. I think for me, when the darkness hits, it is incredibly intense and bleak and oddly dispersed with episodes of good humor. Ultimately, so much of my ability to cope and deal with people is wired into how I manage stress. I am far from resilient.

I am glad you are feeling better and able to share with others. I am also glad that you have been able to continue to write and share with others. That’s major. I know it’s hard work. Thank you for it.

    Be well!
